This is an exciting Print Manager position where you’ll lead a broad mix of graphics projects for exhibitions, events, and venue signage, reporting into the Production Manager.
You’ll manage projects of varying scale — from individual exhibitor graphics through to major show-wide signage. The role is highly client-facing, working directly with organisers and exhibitors, and coordinating with print production partners to secure the best combination of quality, timelines, and cost.
On-site project management will be a regular part of the role, including overseeing installs and ensuring all work is delivered safely and in line with health & safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end management of large-format graphics projects for exhibitions, events, and venue signage.
- Act as the main day-to-day client contact for both exhibitors and organisers, ensuring clear communication and smooth delivery.
- Take project briefs, clarify requirements, and translate them into accurate schedules, production plans, and costings.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external print production partners to secure best quality, timelines, and price.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising workloads to meet fast-moving deadlines.
- Review proofs and pre-production samples, maintaining high standards of quality control throughout.
- Arrange logistics for delivery and install, including tracking shipments and troubleshooting issues quickly.
- Attend site to manage installations and de-rigs, ensuring work is delivered safely and to spec.
- Ensure all on-site activity follows health & safety guidelines and venue regulations.
- Maintain clear project documentation, including client updates, schedules, and post-event reporting.
- Support continuous improvement of project processes to enhance efficiency and client experience.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience project managing large-format graphics for exhibitions, events, or live environments.
- Strong understanding of print production processes, materials, finishes, and installation methodologies.
- Experience working with external print suppliers, including briefing, negotiating costs, and managing quality and deadlines.
- Confident managing multiple projects at pace, with the ability to prioritise effectively under pressure.
- Excellent client-facing skills, comfortable liaising with organisers, exhibitors, and internal stakeholders.
- High attention to detail, particularly in checking artwork, proofs, and final production output.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign (or similar) to handle last-minute amends and ensure print-ready files.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, floorplans, and venue layouts.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with clear written reporting and documentation habits.
- Experience supporting or overseeing on-site installs, with a solid grasp of exhibition venue operations.
- Knowledge of health & safety procedures relevant to live events and installation environments.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including early starts, late finishes, and on-site event days when required.
