A new approach to Technical Production Management

Print Manager

This is an exciting Print Manager position where you’ll lead a broad mix of graphics projects for exhibitions, events, and venue signage, reporting into the Production Manager.

You’ll manage projects of varying scale — from individual exhibitor graphics through to major show-wide signage. The role is highly client-facing, working directly with organisers and exhibitors, and coordinating with print production partners to secure the best combination of quality, timelines, and cost.

On-site project management will be a regular part of the role, including overseeing installs and ensuring all work is delivered safely and in line with health & safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end management of large-format graphics projects for exhibitions, events, and venue signage.
  • Act as the main day-to-day client contact for both exhibitors and organisers, ensuring clear communication and smooth delivery.
  • Take project briefs, clarify requirements, and translate them into accurate schedules, production plans, and costings.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external print production partners to secure best quality, timelines, and price.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising workloads to meet fast-moving deadlines.
  • Review proofs and pre-production samples, maintaining high standards of quality control throughout.
  • Arrange logistics for delivery and install, including tracking shipments and troubleshooting issues quickly.
  • Attend site to manage installations and de-rigs, ensuring work is delivered safely and to spec.
  • Ensure all on-site activity follows health & safety guidelines and venue regulations.
  • Maintain clear project documentation, including client updates, schedules, and post-event reporting.
  • Support continuous improvement of project processes to enhance efficiency and client experience.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience project managing large-format graphics for exhibitions, events, or live environments.
  • Strong understanding of print production processes, materials, finishes, and installation methodologies.
  • Experience working with external print suppliers, including briefing, negotiating costs, and managing quality and deadlines.
  • Confident managing multiple projects at pace, with the ability to prioritise effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent client-facing skills, comfortable liaising with organisers, exhibitors, and internal stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, particularly in checking artwork, proofs, and final production output.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign (or similar) to handle last-minute amends and ensure print-ready files.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, floorplans, and venue layouts.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with clear written reporting and documentation habits.
  • Experience supporting or overseeing on-site installs, with a solid grasp of exhibition venue operations.
  • Knowledge of health & safety procedures relevant to live events and installation environments.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including early starts, late finishes, and on-site event days when required.
